Sow the Wind Reap the Whirlwind: How to Avoid Serious Family Issues

The Bible allows us to peek through the windows of the lives of its characters. It does not hide anything; we are allowed to see the good, the bad and the ugly. Cain’s murder, Abraham and Isaac’s lies, Jacob’s mischiefs and Ruben’s immorality are there for all to see. We witness the strife between Rebekah and her daughters-in-law, Simon and Levi’s violence and Judah’s incest. Neither does the good book conceal the life trajectory of the man whose heart was one according to God’s heart. We see him kill giants (plural), we read his psalms and we admire his military prowess. We also observe him sin gravely and weep bitterly - but always sustained by God’s mercies, always! Pull up a chair, take your place and be attentive. As the curtain opens, we see David walking across one of his balconies, lately his favorite one. But, something is wrong...
